EDUCATIONAL EVENT – 27 MARCH 2019 – ART FRAUD

Our first educational event of the year will take place on Wednesday 27 March on the topic of “Fraud in Art”.

We have an excellent panel of speakers who have huge experience in this area. This may well be a new avenue for a great many of us and so promises to be not only interesting but informative in giving us an introduction to the kind of work which is available. It should also be noted that AML regulations are due to be extended into this area. One of our speakers is a forensic investigator in the field so will bring a different perspective to the event. If you have any doubts about the different ways in which art might be involved in fraud, this article in the LRB may be of interest: https://www.lrb.co.uk/v40/n09/atossa-araxia-abrahamian/the-lemming-market.

The seminar is kindly being hosted by DAC Beachcroft at their new offices at 25 Walbrook, EC4N 8AF which is opposite Cannon Street station. Registration will open at 6pm for a 6.30pm start. Do stay after the main session for drinks and nibbles and an opportunity to chat more about the topic – and of course to catch up with friends and colleagues.

Places are limited so do book ahead by emailing Harriet Devey at membership@thefraudlawyersassociation.org.uk. Please note that FLA events are only open to those with current membership, so if you have not yet renewed for 2019, please email your completed forms to Harriet and make payment of your fee as soon as possible.

We look forward to seeing you.
