We had an excellent day on Friday 21 June, at the 4th FLA Annual Conference in central London. Nearly 200 people appreciated a rousing forthright speech from The Rt Hon Geoffrey Cox QC MP, the Attorney General for England and Wales, followed by a lively Q&A with our second keynote speaker, Lisa Osofsky, Director of the Serious Fraud Office hosted by the FLA Chair, Mark Fenhalls QC.

Panel sessions followed on subjects as diverse as the use of DPAs and AI, the differences between prosecutors and defenders and a case study on international co-operation, interspersed with copious refreshments and the chance to chat to new friends and old.

After an exciting look at the use of covert wires in the style of The Wolf of Wall Street, attendees enjoyed champagne and more time to mingle and discuss issues facing fraud lawyers today.

Finally, many delegates made the short walk to Paternoster Chop House where they were joined by other attendees for an evening of fun, with entertainment, dancing and more drinks.

The FLA Committee would like to thank Caroline Day and her team for a splendid Conference, Diane Calnan for a wonderful summer Reception, Jenner & Block for their kind support and all those who attended and made the event such a success. If you have feedback or would like to find out more, please email the FLA Administrator, Harriet Devey.
