Educational Event – Private Prosecutions: “Victims go private in battle for Justice as prosecution cuts bite” – 24 September 2015

We are delighted to confirm the details for the forthcoming educational event as follows:

Private Prosecutions:  “Victims go private in battle for Justice as prosecution cuts bite”

This headline in The Times [2 September 2015] is an indicator of how private prosecutions are increasing in popularity.  Join us to get a practical approach in this important growth area, to hear from those who have actually undertaken a private prosecution or been part of the process and to consider how such prosecutions sit with civil actions. It is important for those who might want to bring a private prosecution, who might defend such a prosecution and for those who currently bring civil actions to become aware of this growth area of practice.

Speakers: William Boyce QC (QEB Hollis Whiteman); Alison Levitt QC (Mishcon de Reya); David Corker (Corker Binning); Sophia Purkis (Fladgate LLP)

When: 24 September 2015 at 6 pm.   The seminar will be followed by drinks and nibbles.

Where: QEB Hollis Whiteman, 1-2 Laurence Pountney Hill, London EC4R 0EU

RSVP:  Educational events are free for members to attend.  To reserve your place please email (sdejersey@slatergordon.co.uk) or Bethany Jarvis (Bethany.Jarvis@slatergordon.co.uk).
